The Bibliomóvil of the Jaume Bover Municipal Library has started its summer programme this Monday with its first stop at the Port d’Andratx market, where it will offer loan, return, and consultation services for books to residents and visitors.
The Bibliomóvil of the Jaume Bover Municipal Library has begun its summer route this Monday with a first stop at the Port d’Andratx market. The service will be available every Monday from 9:00 to 13:00, offering loan, return, and consultation services for books for both residents and tourists.
A service that covers the entire municipality
This initiative is part of the special summer programme promoted by the Andratx Town Hall. The aim is to encourage reading and facilitate access to the library during the summer months, when many residents change their routine and visitors arrive.
In addition to Port d’Andratx, the Bibliomóvil will visit other points in the municipality. On Tuesdays it will be at the SAC in s’Arracó, on Thursdays the Biblioplaya will set up in Sant Elm, and on Fridays in Camp de Mar, always during the same morning hours.
The councillor for Municipal Services, Laura Monedero, has stated that “with this initiative we bring the library closer to residents and visitors, facilitating access to reading where they enjoy the summer.”
Reading club and library hours
The summer programme also includes a new session of the Reading Club, scheduled for August 6. This time, it will focus on the work Las gratitudes, a book that promises to spark much discussion among participants.
Meanwhile, the Jaume Bover Municipal Library will maintain its usual summer hours, opening from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00. Thus, those who prefer the traditional format also have options.
“We want books to also be part of these holidays and for culture to be present in all areas of the municipality,” Monedero highlighted.
A summer with a taste for reading
For the residents of Andratx, this initiative represents an opportunity to continue reading without having to travel to the centre. And for tourists, a way to discover the local cultural offerings while enjoying the beach. A great success that, in turn, makes summer something more than just sun and swimming.
So now you know: if you are in Port d’Andratx on Mondays, or in s’Arracó, Sant Elm, or Camp de Mar for the rest of the week, the Bibliomóvil awaits you with books for all tastes. Reading doesn’t go on holiday.
