The Town Hall of Banyalbufar confirms that the interruption of the television signal, affecting residents since July 19, still has no repair date. The council maintains daily contact with IB Digital and Endesa, but there is no confirmation on when it will be resolved.
The municipality of Banyalbufar has been without television signal for over two weeks and, so far, there is no specific date for the service to be restored. This has been confirmed by the Town Hall in a statement acknowledging that the fault, caused by a voltage issue in the electrical line, remains unresolved.
According to the council, the incident has persisted since July 19 and from the very beginning, they have been in contact with IB Digital, the agency under the Govern de les Illes Balears responsible for the service. The cause, as conveyed by this entity, is a fault in the electrical line whose repair is the responsibility of Endesa.
Both the Town Hall and IB Digital have repeatedly reported the incident to the electricity company, but to date, no confirmation has been received regarding the expected repair date. The council assures that it maintains daily contact with IB Digital and has made available to both entities all the resources at its disposal to expedite the solution.
In response to residents' questions about the possibility of installing a petrol generator to temporarily restore the service, the Town Hall dismisses this option due to the high risk of fire that placing a generator in a wooded area would entail, especially given the current risk situation. Furthermore, it points out that this would be a provisional and exceptional solution, like the one adopted on the day of the World Cup final, but it is not suitable or safe for continuous use.
The council appreciates the understanding and patience of the residents while work is underway to restore the service to normality, and assures that it will inform of any updates as soon as they are available.
