The restrictions will be activated from 15:00 and will affect access to Santa Ponça, Costa de la Calma, El Toro and Portals Vells. The operation aims to prevent congestion and ensure safety.

The Calvià Town Council will launch a special mobility and safety device on August 12 due to the solar eclipse. Traffic restrictions will be activated from 15:00 and will be adjusted based on the influx of vehicles and people.

The operation will mainly affect areas with the highest expected concentration of the public, such as Santa Ponça, Costa de la Calma, El Toro and Portals Vells. Cuts and restrictions will be established at various access points to facilitate circulation and the passage of emergency services.

Among the affected points are the road to Cala Figuera, Jardí square, the Costa de la Calma roundabout, and access to El Toro via Neptuno and Puig de sa Sirvi avenues. The Jaime I avenue will also be restricted between the roundabout at Santa Ponça square and Lisboa street.

The Calvià Town Council has coordinated this operation with the General Directorate of Emergencies and Interior of the Govern and with security forces. A significant influx of people is expected in the municipality during the day of the eclipse.

The council recommends planning journeys in advance and avoiding the use of private vehicles unless absolutely necessary. They also ask to follow the instructions of the Local Police and the personnel of the operation at all times.

The restrictions may be modified or expanded depending on the evolution of traffic. For updated information, you can check the minisite set up by the Town Council or join their WhatsApp channel.
