Calvià will once again be the epicentre of speedcubing in the Balearics. The Palmanova Hall will host a new edition of the 2026 Mallorca Open on July 25 and 26, an official competition of the World Cube Association (WCA) that will gather participants from 11 countries.
Organised by the Associació Speedcubing Mallorca in collaboration with the Calvià Town Hall, the championship will offer competitions in all the official modalities recognised by the WCA throughout the weekend, from the classic 3x3 Rubik's cube to the more spectacular categories, such as blindfolded solves or large cubes.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the Mallorca Open is also an opportunity for enthusiasts from all over to share experiences, meet other participants, and enjoy a unique atmosphere. Speedcubing is a constantly growing discipline that combines skill, concentration, and personal improvement, but it stands out above all for its strong community spirit, turning each competition into a space for coexistence among people of all ages.
After having held various editions in the municipality, Calvià has established itself as the reference venue for the Mallorca Open thanks to the support of the Town Hall, which year after year facilitates the organisation of the event by providing spaces and the necessary resources for the competition to take place under the best conditions. This collaboration has allowed the municipality to become a benchmark for the speedcubing community in the Balearic Islands.
The championship is open to the public throughout the weekend and entry is free. Everyone interested can come to the Palmanova Hall to discover this mental sport up close, follow the different events, and meet a community that continues to grow year after year. Additionally, the organisation will accept on-site registrations on the day of the competition so that new participants can join the event.
The Associació Speedcubing Mallorca is a non-profit entity dedicated to promoting and disseminating speedcubing in the Balearic Islands.
