From July 2 to September 10, Binissalem hosts 12 free concerts in venues like Can Gelabert and the church of Santa Maria de Robines. It includes jazz, flamenco, classical music and exhibitions.
The Binissalem Town Hall has presented the complete programme for Nits a la Fresca 2026, a cultural cycle that will take place from July 2 to September 10. The offering includes twelve concerts, exhibitions and poetry recitals, all with free entry upon prior registration. The cycle turns the municipality of Raiguer into one of the cultural epicentres of summer in Mallorca.
Concerts for all tastes at Can Gelabert and Santa Maria de Robines
The programme kicks off on July 2 with the Lipinski Quartet, performing 'Summer Resonances' at 21:00 at the Casal de Cultura Can Gelabert. They will be followed by the Fisherman Friends Jazz Band on July 9 and the literary-musical show Litteros on July 16, featuring erotic texts set to music by Miquel Brunet on piano.
On July 23, two exhibitions will open: one by British artist James Lambourne in the Sala Imperial and Directori, and another collective exhibition from the Can Gelabert Printmaking Workshop in the Florentinas Rooms. That same night, the Lambourne Project will perform, with Mary Lambourne on vocals.
On July 30, it's the turn of Los Atunos Rojos, a local rock band featuring Gabi Rodas on keyboards. On August 6, the experimental flamenco singer Niño de Elche will offer a concert that fuses flamenco and avant-garde, one of the most anticipated events of the cycle.
Classical music and literary tributes in August
On August 10, the Tall de Vermadors will commemorate Sant Llorenç with an event in memory of the writer Llorenç Moyà i Gelabert de la Portella. On August 20, the Ensemble Tramuntana will perform works by C.P.E. Bach and Mozart, with cellist Viola de Hoog as soloist.
On August 27, the Babaganoush Quartet will perform, a chamber ensemble featuring clarinet, cello, accordion and double bass. The grand finale will be on September 10 at the church of Santa Maria de Robines, with Música Alta Ripa and their programme 'Joia', featuring Baroque works performed with violins, recorder, cello and harpsichord.
Free registration and opening hours
All activities require prior registration through Eventbrite until capacity is reached. The Casal de Cultura Can Gelabert is open to the public from Monday to Wednesday from 10:00 to 13:00, and Thursday and Friday from 18:00 to 21:00. Residents of Binissalem and visitors can consult the complete programme on the municipal website.
The cycle, which has already had several editions, has established itself as a free cultural alternative in Raiguer. The variety of styles—from jazz to experimental flamenco, classical and folk—ensures there are offerings for all audiences. And all this in charming settings like the cloister of Can Gelabert or the church of Santa Maria de Robines, which add an extra atmosphere to the summer evenings.
If one is tempted, however, it’s best not to leave it until the last minute: capacity is limited and registrations fill up quickly. But hey, between concerts, there’s always time for an ice cream in the square of Binissalem. After all, summer is not for rushing.
