The airline Air Nostrum has scheduled twelve flights between Palma de Mallorca and Badajoz during Christmas 2026, doubling the offer from the previous year. Tickets are already on sale.

Air Nostrum has loaded the Badajoz-Palma de Mallorca route into its system for the 2026-2027 Christmas season with a total of twelve flights, as reported by the Badajoz airport on its social media. The company, which operates the air connection from the Extremadura airfield, will offer six outbound flights and six return flights spread over six key days between December 23 and January 5.

The flights are already available for purchase on the Iberia website and through travel agencies. This schedule represents an increase compared to the previous campaign, when eight flights were offered over four days. On that occasion, 581 passengers travelled, representing a 72.6% occupancy rate.

Dates and times

The first flight will depart from Palma de Mallorca on December 23 at 13:30, arriving in Badajoz at 15:20. This same schedule will be repeated on December 29 and 31 and January 5. In the opposite direction, the planes will take off from Badajoz at 16:20 and land in Palma at 18:05.

Additionally, on December 26 and January 2, there will also be connections. From the Balearic Islands to Extremadura, flights will leave at 13:10 and land at 15:00. The return will depart from Badajoz at 15:45 and arrive in Palma at 17:30.

For those from Mallorca with family in Extremadura or for Extremadurans residing in the islands, these dates provide an opportunity to reunite at Christmas without having to rely on connecting flights. The two-day extension compared to last year offers more flexible travel options.

A consolidated route during key dates

This is not the first time Air Nostrum has scheduled this temporary connection. The company has been offering direct flights between Badajoz and Palma during Christmas for years, receiving positive feedback from users. Last year, the eight flights recorded an average occupancy of 72.6%, a figure the airline hopes to surpass this year by increasing the offer.

The Badajoz airport is experiencing one of its best moments in terms of passenger traffic, according to data from the airport itself. The connection with Palma de Mallorca is one of the most in-demand, especially during holiday periods, as it allows residents of both regions to travel without needing to pass through Madrid.

For Palma residents planning to travel to Badajoz, tickets are already on sale and it is recommended to book as soon as possible, given the historical high occupancy during these dates. The flights have an approximate duration of one hour and fifty minutes.
