Fibwi Mallorca Bàsquet Palma has finalised the signing of Dorde Simeunovic, a Serbian power forward standing 2 metres tall, who comes to bolster the interior game of Álex Formento's team. The player, born in Krusevac on April 26, 1995, lands on the island after a standout season in Segunda FEB, where he has been one of the standout names in the competition.
A proven track record in Primera FEB
Simeunovic is no stranger to the second tier of Spanish basketball. The Serbian has played for teams such as Leyma Coruña, ICG Força Lleida, and Grupo Ureta Tizona Burgos, accumulating over a hundred matches in Primera FEB. In his first season in the category, with Leyma Coruña, he played 38 games averaging 5.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in 17 minutes per game.
The following year, at ICG Força Lleida, he played alongside Mallorcan Jaume Lobo and was a key player in the promotion to Liga Endesa. There, he averaged 7.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 39 games. In the 2024-25 season, now with Grupo Ureta Tizona Burgos, he continued to log minutes (18 per game) with 6.7 points and 2.9 rebounds.
“He is a player with a lot of experience in the category and a scoring ability that will be very beneficial for us,” club sources highlight. His performance in Segunda FEB this season has been spectacular: 19.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in an average of 33 minutes with the Spanish Basketball Academy, numbers that have earned him a return to Primera FEB.
A luxury reinforcement for the interior game
With Simeunovic's arrival, Fibwi Mallorca gains versatility and strength in the paint. The Serbian can play both power forward and centre, and his ability to score from outside and in the low post makes him an important offensive asset for Álex Formento's scheme. “He is a player who knows the league well and can contribute both defensively and offensively,” the sports management adds.
