The Palma club strengthens its interior game with the 2.06-metre American centre, who comes from Le Moyne University, where he averaged 15.8 points and 8 rebounds per game.

The Fibwi Mallorca Bàsquet Palma announced on Wednesday the signing of Shilo Jackson, a 2.06-metre centre born in Indianapolis, for the 2026-27 season. The 23-year-old player arrives to bolster the paint of the team led by Álex Formento, which aims to establish itself in the Primera FEB after returning to the category last season.

Jackson completed his college education at Le Moyne University, where he played with the Le Moyne Dolphins in NCAA Division I. In his final season, he played 27 games averaging 30.1 minutes per game, scoring 15.8 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and dishing out 2.1 assists. These numbers made him one of the standout players on his team and a talent to watch in US college basketball.

A rising career

Before joining Le Moyne, the centre trained at Texas A&M University, where he played with the Islanders. In the 2023-24 season, he participated in seven games, contributing an average of 4 points and 3.3 rebounds in six minutes per game. The following year, he increased his involvement to 23 games, averaging 10.1 minutes, where he averaged 3.8 points and 2.3 rebounds.

Shilo Jackson will land on the island to play his first season in Spanish basketball. His versatility in both areas of the court allows him to finish close to the basket and stretch out to the perimeter, which fits with Formento's playing philosophy. The Palma coach is looking for a physical and dynamic team, and Jackson brings youth and top-level college experience.

A team in the making

With Jackson's arrival, Fibwi Mallorca Bàsquet Palma now has eight confirmed players for the upcoming season. Alongside the already renewed Xabi Beraza, Aless Scariolo, and Lysander Bracey, new signings include Hugo Ferreira, Sergi Huguet, Jaume Lobo, Adrià Moncanut, Garmine Kande, Dorde Simeunovic, and Osi Cerdà. The club continues to shape the team to face an exciting season where the goal is to establish itself in the silver category of national basketball.

The Fibwi Mallorca fans will be able to see their new centre in action starting in September, when pre-season begins. The club plans to present the player in the coming weeks, once he passes the medical examination and formalises his contract. The subscribers of the Palma team are eagerly awaiting to see how this new piece integrates into Formento's machinery, in a project that bets on young talent and collective play.
