Algaida VC has made history by winning the Spanish U-17 Women's Beach Volleyball Championship, held this weekend at the San Juan beach facilities in Alicante. The Mallorcan team triumphed in a nail-biting final against CV Pórtol, also from the Balearics, with a score of 2-1 (15-21, 21-16, 15-10).
The tournament, organised by the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation, brought together the best teams from across Spain. Algaida VC reached the final after narrowly defeating the Bosma Academy from Valencia in the semi-finals with a score of 2-1 (18-21, 21-17, 15-5). The players, coached by Joan Riera, demonstrated enormous mental strength to come back in crucial moments.
A Balearic derby for the title
The grand final was a clash between two teams from the Balearic Islands, ensuring a high-level spectacle. CV Pórtol, who had won their semi-final against VP Madrid A (2-1), put up a strong fight throughout.
