The National Police of Manacor has arrested a man and a woman accused of assaulting a man at the train station to steal a gold ring and cash. The suspects were found hiding in the toilets.

A man of Moroccan origin and a woman of Venezuelan origin were arrested last Monday by the National Police of Manacor after beating a man at the local train station. The victim, who suffered blows to the abdomen, immediately alerted 091 after the assault.

According to the Superior Headquarters, the officers arrived at the scene and found the injured party in pain. He reported that two people had repeatedly punched him in the stomach to take a gold ring he was wearing and the cash he had on him.

Police Sweep and Discovery in the Toilets

With a detailed description of the assailants, the police launched a swift sweep of the area around the railway infrastructure. The search paid off when they located the suspects hiding inside a toilet at the station.

When cornered, both attempted to flee desperately through a back door, but the quick intervention of the officers thwarted their escape and allowed for their interception. During the security search, the police found among the man's belongings the stolen gold ring and the exact amount of cash reported by the victim.

Background and Consequences for Locals

Given such evidence, the alleged criminals were arrested for robbery with violence. The man has a history of similar offenses, according to sources from the investigation. Both remain at the disposal of the judiciary.

The incident has caused some alarm among regular users of the Manacor station, a key transit point for residents and tourists. The National Police recommends exercising caution in high-traffic areas and not hesitating to call 091 in any suspicious situation. The investigation remains open to determine if the detainees are linked to other robberies in the area.
