The State Meteorological Agency has activated a yellow alert for tomorrow, Tuesday, in Manacor due to maximum temperatures reaching 39 degrees. The heat will intensify on Wednesday and Thursday, with thermometers nearing 40 degrees.

Manacor is preparing for a week of intense heat. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has declared a yellow alert for tomorrow, Tuesday, due to maximum temperatures reaching 39 degrees. The warning, which will be active all day, recommends taking extra precautions, especially during the central hours.

The sky will be clear and light breezes from the southwest will barely alleviate the feeling of mugginess. The minimum temperature will be around 21 degrees, meaning the nights will also be warm.

The peak of heat will arrive on Wednesday

On Wednesday, the situation will worsen. AEMET predicts that the mercury will reach a maximum of 40 degrees, with minimums of 20. Again, the sky will be cloudless and the wind will be very light, coming from the southwest. The yellow alert could remain in place if forecasts do not change.

Residents of Manacor should stay well hydrated and avoid going outside between 12 and 5 PM, especially the elderly and children. The Town Hall has reminded that health centres are prepared to handle potential heat strokes.

Thursday and the weekend: relentless heat

On Thursday, there will be no respite. Maximum temperatures will again hover around 40 degrees and minimums will be 20. The sky will remain clear and the wind, very light, will blow from the southeast. No precipitation is expected throughout the week.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the heat will give a slight reprieve. On Saturday, the maximum will drop to 37 degrees and the minimum to 20, with slightly cloudy skies. On Sunday, it will rise slightly to a maximum of 38 degrees, with minimums of 21. Winds will be light, from the northeast on Saturday and from the south on Sunday.

AEMET reminds that these forecasts are provisional and will be updated. Residents of Manacor can check the weather evolution on the official website of the agency or on its social media channels.

In the meantime, it’s time to arm oneself with patience, a fan, and plenty of water. And if anyone has a spare fan, they should get it ready: the week is going to be long and hot.
