The Sant Joan Town Hall has added a qualified young person as a general administration technician, hired through the SOIB youth employment programme.

The Sant Joan Town Hall has incorporated a qualified young person with the title of general administration technician this June, as reported by the council itself. The hiring has been carried out through the programme 'SOIB - Opportunities for employment for qualified young people in local entities 2026-2027'.

The new employee, who has already integrated into the municipal team, will carry out tasks in line with her qualifications. The programme is promoted by the SOIB and is co-financed by the Sectoral Conference on Employment and Labour Affairs and the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).

The aim of this call is to regulate the granting of subsidies intended to finance labour costs, including the employer's contribution to Social Security, arising from the hiring of unemployed young people aged over 18 and under 30, registered as job seekers with the SOIB and beneficiaries of the National Youth Guarantee System.

In this case, the subsidy received by the Sant Joan Town Hall amounts to €35,791.90, which covers the hiring expenses. The scope of the call is the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands.

With this addition, the Sant Joan council strengthens its administrative structure and responds to its commitment to qualified youth employment in the municipality. The technician will handle tasks specific to her category, contributing to the daily functioning of the town hall.

The hiring is part of a line of aid aimed at facilitating the labour integration of young people with training in the field of local entities. The programme, which extends until 2027, allows municipalities in the Balearics to incorporate qualified personnel without bearing the full costs.

The Sant Joan Town Hall has highlighted the importance of having such programmes to improve the services provided to citizens and to offer professional opportunities to young people in the area.
