The Santanyí Town Council has presented the programme for the Cala Llombards 2026 festivities, which will take place from August 7 to 16 with activities for all ages.
The Santanyí Town Council has unveiled the complete programme for the Cala Llombards 2026 festivities, dedicated to the Mare de Déu d'Agost, which will run from August 7 to 16. The programme combines tradition, children's activities, sports, and music, aiming to engage both locals and visitors to this coastal area.
One of the highlights will be on Friday, August 7, the inaugural day with the Cercavila and Generations led by the Homar Pla family, accompanied by the dimonis and xeremiers from Santanyí. The following day, Saturday 8, the Holi Festival and Jove Fest are scheduled, while on Sunday 9, the Family Fun Fest will take place, along with the launch of the excavation campaign for the talaiot Na Nova, featuring a performance by the Santanyí Municipal Music Band.
The final stretch of the festivities will begin on Thursday 13 with a mass in honour of the Mare de Déu d'Agost, during which couples celebrating 50 years of marriage will be honoured, followed by a dinner of pa amb oli. On Friday 14, the Corregudes de joies and the Verbena with the Mallorca Orchestra will take place, while Saturday 15 will feature the Sopar de rebost and the Playback. The grand finale will be on Sunday 16 with the traditional Cycling Tour to es Llombards.
The mayor of Santanyí, Maria Pons, wanted to send a message of affection to the residents: “Once again, the Cala Llombards festivities are here, festivities that identify us, root us, and remind us of the strength of a community that knows how to celebrate, share, and keep its tradition alive.” Pons thanked all the people, entities, and volunteers who make this programme possible.
“Every year, when August arrives, our Cala dresses up to celebrate the Mare de Déu d'Agost festivities. These are days filled with joy, togetherness, and tradition.”
This was expressed by the mayor's representative in Cala Llombards, José Simeón, who also thanked the collaboration of the Cala Llombards Neighbourhood Association, the Friends of Cala Llombards Association, and the local youth.
The organisation reminds that the festivities committee reserves the right to modify the programme for reasons of force majeure. Events will be held at various locations in Cala Llombards, and most activities are free to access, designed for attendees to enjoy festive days during the peak summer season.
