The artist Horacio Sapere inaugurates his new exhibition 'Personal Tantra' this Saturday, July 18, at Sea Hall Studio, in Cala Figuera. The exhibition will be open until August 14.
The painter and sculptor Horacio Sapere returns to the exhibition scene in Mallorca with Personal Tantra, a show that opens its doors this Saturday, July 18, at the Sea Hall Studio in Cala Figuera, in the municipality of Santanyí. The event is at 19:00, and the exhibition will be on view until August 14.
Sapere's work, based on the island since 1975, has been featured in international fairs such as ARCO Madrid, Art Basel, Art Cologne, and FIAC Paris. However, the artist maintains a close bond with the local audience, to whom he now offers a proposal that promises to surprise.
A career marked by experimentation
Trained in Buenos Aires, Sapere arrived in Mallorca and connected with the creators of the Nueva Plástica. His work has evolved from zen to a neo-expressionism filled with expressive violence and everyday references. Personal Tantra falls within this line of constant research.
The artist has left his mark on the public space of the island with works such as La casa del gato, in the Matadero square in Palma, or Nidos en Can Xorquet, in the Feixina park. Also, Pada con casas, at the entrance of Ses Salines, is part of his urban legacy. Now, in Cala Figuera, visitors will be able to discover his most intimate and recent facet.
A charming space in Cala Figuera
The Sea Hall Studio, located at Calle Verge del Carme 34, is a space that combines workshop and gallery in the heart of the coastal area. The exhibition arrives in the height of summer, allowing tourists and residents to enjoy art in a privileged setting. This is not the first time the studio has hosted renowned artists, but Sapere's presence is a special draw for contemporary art lovers.
The residents of Santanyí and the entire Llevant region have a unique opportunity to see the work of a creator who has shaped Balearic art. The exhibition is free and will be open until mid-August, so there’s no excuse to miss it.
A summer of art on the Mallorcan coast
The inauguration of Personal Tantra coincides with the peak of the tourist season, making Cala Figuera a meeting point between art and leisure. Those who visit the exhibition can then take a stroll by the port or dine at one of the local restaurants. A perfect plan for a Saturday evening.
Horacio Sapere, who already surprised in 2022 with Poètiques de la geometria. Llull-Sapere at the church of Sant Francesc in Palma, shows that he is still in full creative form. And one cannot help but wonder: what new surprise does he have in store for us next winter?
