The Santanyí Town Hall has completed an ambitious package of works ranging from the renovation of the Camí de Cala Llombards to the construction of a new school dining room at CEIP Blai Bonet, with a decentralised investment benefiting each area of the municipality.

The municipality of Santanyí has concluded a cycle of unprecedented public investments, with projects covering everything from road access improvements to the construction of educational and leisure facilities. Decentralised management has been key to ensuring that each area, from Cala Figuera to Es Llombards, receives top-level infrastructure, according to municipal sources.

Mobility and Parking: Solutions for Daily Life

The comprehensive renovation of nearly 3 kilometres of the Camí de Cala Llombards, which connects to the MA-6100 road, has resolved historic pavement and drainage issues. Additionally, the asphalting of Bernareggi Street, the main access to Cala Figuera, has improved road safety and signage, eliminating the water accumulations that residents faced.

In Portopetro, the new underground parking lot with capacity for 20 vehicles has been integrated beneath a public square with a viewpoint over the port. Meanwhile, in Calonge, the council has acquired strategic land to create new public parking areas, a recurring demand from both residents and visitors.

Education and Citizen Services: Closer Services for Residents

In the educational field, the construction of the new dining room and catering kitchen at CEIP Blai Bonet has allowed for the recovery of spaces to integrate the nursery school for children aged 0 to 3 within the centre, responding to a long-standing demand from the educational community. The works have improved the functionality of the school and facilitate family reconciliation.

In Cala d'Or, the new 900-square-metre Multifunctional Centre is now operational. This building unifies the tourist office, citizen services, youth centre, and offices for the Civil Guard and the Foreign Tourist Assistance Service (SATE), ensuring closer administration for residents in the coastal area.

Sustainability and Leisure Spaces: Efficiency and Quality of Life

The renovation of public lighting in Es Llombards has included the underground installation of the entire electrical network and the installation of LED lights that allow for a 60% energy saving. This action is complemented by the improvement of lighting on S’Arrabassat Street in S’Alqueria Blanca.

To prevent flooding, the three phases of improvement of the stormwater network on Llombards, Bisbe Verger, s’Aljub streets, and the Camí des Camp d’en Torrella have been completed, increasing drainage capacity during heavy rains. In terms of leisure, the modernisation of the children's park in S’Alqueria Blanca has rehabilitated the iconic pirate ship and created a new calisthenics area, highly demanded by young people.

With all these projects executed and fully operational, the Santanyí Town Hall concludes an investment cycle that reaffirms its commitment to a balanced and modern municipal model. Residents are already enjoying infrastructures that enhance their daily lives, from road safety to family reconciliation, along with leisure and energy efficiency.
