The Santanyí Town Hall has announced the programme for the Festes de Santa Maria del Mar in Cala d'Or 2026, which will be held from July 31 to August 15.
The Festes de Santa Maria del Mar in Cala d'Or 2026 will kick off this Friday, July 31, and will run until August 15, as announced by the Santanyí Town Hall. The programme includes around thirty events that combine tradition, culture, and leisure for all audiences.
Among the highlights is the traditional Maritime Procession on Saturday, August 15, which will be accompanied by the Solemn Mass and a fireworks display by Pirotècnica Jordà. There will also be popular events such as the appearance of the Gegants and the Xeremiers from Santanyí, the Pamboliada with comedian Jaime Gili, and several musical evenings in the Plaça Costa, including the Revetlla Blanca, the Revetlla Jove, and a tribute to El Canto del Loco.
Sports and family activities also have their place. The programme includes the II Night Race, the Holi Festival, activities on Cala Gran beach, a showcase of Ball de Bot, and concerts in the iconic venue of Es Fortí.
The mayor of Santanyí, Maria Pons, has emphasised the importance of these festivities, which "identify us, root us, and remind us of the strength of a community that knows how to celebrate, share, and keep its tradition alive." Pons has thanked the efforts of the individuals, organisations, and volunteers who make the celebration possible.
For his part, the mayor's representative in Cala d'Or, Rafael Batle, has encouraged residents and visitors to participate in the events and to maintain "the spirit of community, brotherhood, and shared celebration."
The Santanyí Town Hall reminds that all events are subject to possible changes due to organisational or weather-related issues. The complete programme can be consulted on the municipal website.
The Cala d'Or festivities are one of the most anticipated events of the summer in the Llevant i Migjorn region, attracting thousands of people each year. The combination of maritime tradition, music, and recreational activities makes them appealing to both residents and tourists visiting the area.
For attendees, it is recommended to arrive early for the most crowded events, such as the Maritime Procession and the fireworks, and to check the updated programme in case of last-minute changes.
