The Santanyí Town Council has announced the programme for the Festes de Sant Domingo d'Es Llombards, which will take place from 30 July to 8 August 2026. Among the new features are the first Jaleo and a cultural tour celebrating the 90th anniversary of the local school.
The municipality of Santanyí is finalising preparations for the Festes de Sant Domingo d'Es Llombards, which this year will be held from Thursday 30 July to Saturday 8 August 2026. The Town Council has presented a programme that combines tradition, culture, and leisure for all audiences, with special attention to the new features that will mark this edition.
One of the main innovations will be the First Jaleo d'Es Llombards, scheduled for Saturday 8 August in the Plaça des Pou, followed by the grand final revetla. Additionally, a cultural walk has been organised to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the inauguration of the Escola des Llombards, led by Apol·lònia Martínez.
Traditional events will once again be the focus of the festivities. The programme will kick off with the raising of the flag and the inaugural speech, which this year will be delivered by Antoni Burguera. This will be followed by a parade of demons and caparrots with the Xeremiers de Santanyí, the Night of Rock, the correfoc led by the Dimonis de sa Cova des Fossar, and the popular Flower Power Revival.
The mayor of Santanyí, Maria Pons, has emphasised the importance of these festivities as a hallmark of local identity. “They define us, root us, and remind us of the strength of a community that knows how to celebrate, share, and keep its tradition alive,” she stated, thanking all the individuals, entities, and volunteers who make these days possible.
For his part, the representative of the mayor in Es Llombards, Miquel Cabrer, has encouraged all residents to participate and to maintain “the spirit of community, brotherhood, and shared celebration.”
The programme also includes the traditional Tremponada, the cultural contest “I know more than you, llombarder!”, theatrical performances, and the farewell of the legendary Cucorba. The offerings are designed for both residents and visitors who come to the town during these days.
