Over 7,000 people packed Son Fusteret to bid farewell to Ossifar, the most beloved group in Mallorca, on a night of traditional festivities. The duo formed by Luis Arboledas and Llàtzer Méndez offered a retrospective of their 30-year career.

The mooing of a cow alerted the 7,000 souls filling Son Fusteret. It was the signal: Ossifar kicked off their farewell concert with Da-li cebes!, and the party erupted. On Thursday night, Palma surrendered to the most irreverent and beloved group in Mallorca during their final performance.

A historic traditional festivity

The Son Fusteret venue, larger than the Quarter General Luque in Inca, which hosted 4,500 fans last year, welcomed an intergenerational audience: from children to octogenarians, many coming from the Part Forana, wearing traditional hats and caps that read 'Piensas Ossifar', in a nod to the Mallorcan brand Piema.

Luis Arboledas, in a t-shirt and patterned tie, and Llàtzer Méndez, wearing a sheriff's badge, recounted their greatest hits. Mi sarquento, Telefòname (updated to Wasapéame), Restreñimiento de amor or ¡Ay Tonina! —with its chorus 'que gros que tens es cul, estic beneit per tu'— had thousands singing along.

There were also memories of Biel Mesquida, a deceased founding member, and other departed companions. Emotion mixed with laughter on a night that the organisers described as “one to remember for a lifetime.”

A mass phenomenon that transcends generations

Ossifar has shown that their music, born in the 90s at the Dique del Oeste, is more alive than ever. Two Latina women riding scooters outside the venue stopped upon hearing Catalina and ended up dancing. This anecdote reflects the duo's ability to attract audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

The concert, which lasted nearly three hours, was a journey through three decades of songs that speak of love, heartbreak, and everyday life with uproarious humour. The lively and carefree staging turned Son Fusteret into a popular festivity where hamburgers and pizza were the stars of the dinner.

Farewell to a group that will always be in our hearts

With this concert, Ossifar closes a chapter of over 30 years on stage. Luis and Llàtzer, the group's 'dads', thanked the audience for their affection and reminded everyone that, although they are saying goodbye, their legacy remains. “Tot en aquesta vida hou mou l'amor,” they sang in Restreñimiento de amor, and so it has been: the love from the audience was the true driving force of the night.

The attendees sang until they were hoarse, and many are already thinking about the next reunion —who knows if there will be an encore in the future—. For now, Ossifar leaves through the grand exit, leaving an indelible mark in the musical memory of Mallorca.
