The Son Cladera neighbourhood incorporates three new Bicipalma stations, which join the 98 already operational in Palma. The expansion is part of phase III, which plans for 16 stations and 150 electric bikes.
The Son Cladera neighbourhood now has three new Bicipalma stations, which came into operation this Wednesday. The locations are in front of the Conselleria de Educació, in Son Fuster; next to IES Juníper Serra; and on Cala Mesquida street.
Each station has between 10 and 14 anchors for bikes. With these additions, the Bicipalma network reaches a total of 98 operational stations throughout the city.
This initiative is part of phase III of the service expansion, which includes the launch of a total of 16 stations and the addition of 150 electric bikes. The project has an investment of 750,000 euros.
The Deputy Mayor of Mobility, Toni Deudero, visited the installation located in front of the Conselleria de Educació this morning, accompanied by the manager of SMAP, Lydia Pérez; the Director General of Mobility, Antonio Román; the General Coordinator of Citizen Participation, Pedro Miró; and the Coordinator of the Levante District, Youba Sissoko.
During July, the stations of Sa Teulera, Son Dureta, Son Armadams, and Avenida Picasso, in the Ponent area, were already added to the network. In the coming weeks, openings are planned for those located in Son Rapinya, Son Castelló, Sa Indioteria, Son Espanyol, Cala Gamba, Coll d'en Rebassa, Ciutat Jardí, and Can Pastilla.
With these new stops, the service strengthens its coverage in Son Cladera and moves towards the goal of bringing sustainable mobility to more neighbourhoods in Palma. Residents in the area can now use the electric bikes available at these three points.
