The courtyard of the Casa de Cultura Ses Cases Noves hosted the official presentation of the four winning works of the Vila de Santanyí 2026 competition, in an evening that combined literature and music in tribute to Blai Bonet.
Last Saturday at sunset, Santanyí concluded a new edition of its Literary Awards with the presentation of the four winning works. The event, held in the courtyard of the Casa de Cultura Ses Cases Noves, brought together the awarded authors and an audience that enjoyed wine, verses, and a performance based on the poetry of Blai Bonet, a writer native to the municipality.
Four books, four voices
The winners of this edition are Quela Servera Turnes, with Compost_present_quasi_constant; Jovi Lozano-Seser, with Una novel·leta porno; David Sánchez Pacheco, with «F» en el xat; and Lucia Pietrelli, with Vestigis. Laberint amb pare en flames. All of them have been published by Adia Edicions and were present to discuss their influences and creative processes.
The journalist Margalida Mateu hosted the evening, giving voice to each author. Quela Servera explained that her work arises from the observation of the everyday, while Jovi Lozano-Seser confessed that his novel explores the boundaries of the genre with irony. David Sánchez highlighted the use of digital language in his narrative, and Lucia Pietrelli defined her poetry collection as a journey through family memory.
A sonic tribute to Blai Bonet
The event, framed within the patronal festivities of Santanyí, included a musical tribute to the local poet Blai Bonet. A performance featuring his poems set to music concluded the presentation, connecting the new generation of authors with the figure who put Santanyí on the map of Catalan literature. The audience, which included local residents and authorities, applauded the initiative with emotion.
The Vila de Santanyí Literary Awards thus establish themselves as a fixed cultural event in the municipality's calendar. For the residents of the Llevant i Migjorn region, these awards represent an opportunity to engage with quality literature without leaving home, and to keep alive the literary tradition that Blai Bonet initiated. The books are already available in local bookstores and at the municipal library.
