The Mallorcan municipality will celebrate its festival from July 10 to 20 with an agenda that includes concerts, obstacle races, culinary contests, and a ban on artificial intelligence in the Beata poster.

The Santa Margalida Town Hall has presented the official programme for the Festes de Santa Margalida 2026, which will take place from July 10 to 20. This event, one of the most anticipated in the Pla de Mallorca calendar, features over fifty activities that combine sports, music, tradition, and gastronomy. This year's novelty is the emphasis on female talent, both on stage and in the organisation of training events.

Female Focus in Music and Culture

On July 11, the Plaça de la Vila will host a concert by Pitxorines, an all-female group that reinterprets the Mallorcan folk repertoire with voices, strings, and winds. The commitment to local creation continues on July 20 with the premiere of “Jota Sa Trencadissa”, a traditional dance piece with music by Marta Elka and Pere Estelrich and lyrics by Rafel Bordoy.

The programme also includes talks and workshops led by professional women. Child and adolescent psychologist Erika Pérez López will give a lecture on July 13 at the Centre Xin-Xirineu. Additionally, dancer Isabel Payeras and ceramicists Sílvia Martínez and Teresa Matas will offer training activities throughout the fortnight.

On July 17, the Plaça de l’Església will be filled with rhythm during an evening dedicated to the “Ball de Bot”, the island's regional dances, featuring the groups Aires Vileros, Caliu, and Da-li Cebes. Residents will be able to enjoy a showcase of deeply rooted popular culture.

Sports and Motors in the First Days

The festivities kick off on July 10 with the II Carrera RIEXTREM at the Passeig de Son Mas, an obstacle course with mud and water that will test participants' endurance. The following day, motor enthusiasts have an appointment at the IES Santa Margalida car park for the Hero Motorfest, which includes driving skill exhibitions.

On July 15, the final of the 7-a-side football tournament will take place at the Camp Antoni Quetglas Frontera, and on July 16, there will be endurance races in the square. The sports programme is completed with the Mallorca San Huberto Hunting Championship, an event for small game hunting enthusiasts.

For the locals, these activities represent an opportunity to participate in local competitions and spend time with family. Registrations for the obstacle race are already open at the municipal sports centre.

Gastronomy, Tradition, and Solidarity

On July 14, singer-songwriter Tomeu Penya will perform a charity concert against cancer at the Plaça de l’Església. This event, which has become a classic of the festivities, aims to raise funds for cancer research.

On July 18, the Auditori de Santa Margalida will host the III Sobrasada Contest, led by rural promoter Miquel Montoro. Participants will compete for the prize for the best artisanal sobrasada in the municipality, a star product of local gastronomy.

On July 12, the selection of children who will embody the traditional characters of the patroness's procession, which will take place in September, will be held. As a novelty, on July 20, the winning design of the La Beata 2026 festival poster will be revealed, with the rules explicitly banning works generated by artificial intelligence.

Residents can consult the complete programme on the Town Hall's website and collect brochures at the youth information centre. Activities are free except for some competitions that require prior registration.
