From July 13 to 18, the neighbourhood of Porta de Santa Margalida in Palma will celebrate the Festes del Carme 2026 with a programme that includes a truc tournament, jazz, artistic skating, a water castle, futbet, a popular dance, an outdoor dinner, and skate.
The Plaça Patins in Palma will become the heart of the Festes del Carme of Porta de Santa Margalida from July 13 to 18, a six-day programme that combines sports, music, popular culture, and family-friendly activities. The organisers have planned more than a dozen free activities that will kick off each evening and extend into the night, aiming to bring together locals and visitors around the square.
Music, Sports, and Tradition Over Six Days
On Monday, July 13, at 19:30, the second edition of the Torneo de Truc Plaça Patins will begin, a must for fans of this traditional card game. Half an hour later, at 20:30, the group Sons Espai Creatiu will perform a jazz concert on the same outdoor stage.
On Tuesday, July 14, at 20:00, the Club Patinatge Rodes d’Or will hold an artistic skating exhibition on the square's rink. The little ones will have their moment on Wednesday, July 15, at 17:00 with a water castle, a refreshing activity perfect for the hot July afternoons.
Thursday, July 16, the main day of the Carme festival, will start at 11:00 with a solemn mass at the Convent de les Tereses on the Rambla. In the afternoon, at 19:00, the II Torneo de Futbet will take place at Plaça Patins, and at 20:00, Calle Oms, in front of Bar Espanya and Can Vinagre, will host a popular dance.
Outdoor Dinner and Skate to Close the Week
On Friday, July 17, at 20:00, the much-anticipated sopar a la fresca will take place at Plaça Patins, a community dinner accompanied by a musical performance from Paco and a large raffle with surprises. Throughout the week, a food truck will be available in the square for those wanting to grab a bite between activities.
The grand finale will arrive on Saturday, July 18, at 18:00 with the Shine Skate Jam, a skate exhibition that promises to attract young people and urban sports enthusiasts. The square will be filled with boards and tricks on wheels to bid farewell to the festivities in style.
The Festes del Carme of Porta de Santa Margalida are an example of how a central Palma neighbourhood keeps its identity alive through simple yet participatory activities. The involvement of businesses, organisations, and residents is key to ensuring this annual event remains a meeting point for all ages.
